Banff

Banff in the Rockies of Alberta Canada - Another of my favourite places .... Wonderful Mountains hence snowboarding, hiking and mountain biking, The Banff Centre hence good art, a great sports centre, somewhere to live and work, and good friends / colleagues and The Town hence good food particularly sushi.

I am happy to have designed lighting Summer 2001 and 2002 dance training in the Greenham Theatre, see the design page. 2002 was sad because of the death of Jeannie, a sparkling light in this world, who was a wonderful board op in 2001 and was to be one of the Electricians for the Greenham in 2002.

A few links of interest

Ski Banff Lake Louise, Sunshine (home to much of my fun on a snowboard) - particularly the web cam, Discover Banff,

Some Pictures

Sushi as many will know is a favourite of mine, the first place I ever had Sushi was Sukiyaki House on Banff Avenue, still a favourite place to go, the Love Boat is too much Sushi for two but enjoyed ... below was my first meal out of the Summer 2002.

Mountain bike riding in Banff is a total joy, here I am out with Harry Frehner (Directing!), Scott and ..... Harry sadly fell off and broke a wrist on a later ride, I fell off on this one doing a 270 degree over the handlebars - only casualty the camera. Harry did some wonderful lighting on the Lee Award piece.

Another bike ride, rain threatening after going along Healy Creek and back around Vermillion Lakes.

Theatre Craft 2000 - my last group all good uns really. A copy of the picture of all the production staff is available here.

John and Betty on a hike Summer 2001. Their friendship and support through the years has been much appreciated. They now have a wonderful son called Jackson.

John, Betty, Harry and Dave. My best bike ride summer 2000 from Lake Louise along the valley side. I aspire to be as good a good lighting designer and mountain biker as have Harry (thats a map not a plan of the Harvey Theatre we are looking at).

Summer 2000 on top of Norquay, the only mountain top that year.

Cascade and Rundle, the mountains overlooking Banff, Old friends whose tops I have visited in previous years.
